As Alexandra searched for belonging in her early teens, she ultimately found herself involved with the wrong crowd, leading to addiction and a false sense of love. Her trafficker personated himself as a romantic partner, capitalizing on her addiction and belief that he was a person she could trust. This is one of the many common disguises traffickers use to exploit vulnerabilities.
“I found myself doing unbearable things and didn’t know a way out.”
It wasn’t until she was arrested that she was introduced to a residential treatment program that ultimately turned her life around. We are grateful for partnering organizations that operate in this space for women who have been exploited and incarcerated.
As Alexandra continues her healing journey, she has been able to dream big and is flourishing in her program to become a Certified Canine Trainer. One Purse is honored to come alongside Alexandra to help cover her tuition costs.
