For over 22 years, Heidi battled substance abuse, which led her down a path marked by homelessness, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and periods of incarceration. No matter which direction she turned, every road seemed to end in loss, pain, or survival mode. Freedom felt out of reach, and she had little hope that her life could look different.
“At age 35, I was given an opportunity to pursue healing for the first time. That moment became my turning point.”
Through the support of community partners — including therapy, substance abuse counseling, and outside support groups — Heidi began addressing the root causes of her trauma. At the same time, she rededicated her walk in faith.

Today, her life is grounded in belief — belief in herself and in her future. Heidi no longer sees her past as a limitation but as part of the foundation that shaped her resilience and purpose. She has built a successful career in esthetics and now runs her own solo business — something she once never thought possible.
Beyond her professional growth, she is also on the verge of graduating with her associate’s degree and preparing to transfer into an undergraduate program in sociology. Education has become a pathway for healing, understanding, and advocacy. Today, she is living with confidence, stability, and direction.
